Is too much sugar bad for your skin ?

Do you have sweet tooth? It has been reported that about 70% population of the people in Asia loves sugary stuff. As a result of this there are more people who are suffering from diabetes in Asia.

Recent studies shows that there has been lots of evident that sugar not only damages our health but also causes one to age faster than usual. This is because when someone consumes too much sweet stuff then your body actually needs, your body's natural process of glycation speeds up.This is when the excess of sugar elements and protein molecules combines and causes damage to the collagen.

In a recent research conducted by Paul J.Beisswenger, MD, a diabetes researcher and a Medical School professor, he ruled out that collagen damage can make your skin less elastic, more easily wrinkled and more vulnerable to sun damage.

This is why it has been often said that those who have a sweet tooth may not have a wrinkle-free face. The reason behind this is because of the clogging of the excess of sugar causes damage to the collagen and elastin proteins which are responsible to protect our skin from brittleness and dullness.

How to lose weight in a healthy way?

Do you often hear those who are skinny saying that the eat a lot but they have slim frame. Research shows that water can help you lose weight. One of the ways are by consuming foods that are reach in water like cabbages, grapes, lettuce, radish, spinach, cauliflower. It has also been documented that frequent drinking of cabbage juices also helps in obesity.

In a recent study conducted at the University of Tokyo, it was reported that women who ate high water content foods had lower body mass indexed and smaller waistlines! This is due to the fact that each of this food contains at least about 90% water. The secret to the weight loss id because the water contained in these foods actually fills you up and as a result you will eat less.

The Sri-lankan’s believe that by adding dried ginger in our daily food helps to burn our body fat. It is quite easy to add ginger to our daily cooking. You should buy dried ginger and blend it fine into a powder form and then store in a air-tight container. You should add 1 tablespoon of this dried ginger in your cooking. You can also take 1 teaspoon adding it to warm water and drink this juice.

You should also cultivate the habit to do stretching for at least 20 minutes and also running on the treadmill or any other exercise machine for about 30minutes.If you do not have access to exercise machines, you can also go for brisk walking for about 45minutes. Other rules that must be observed are that you should try to exercise at least about 40minutes, this is because studies shows that you will start burning fats after 30minutes of exercising.

In India many research has been conducted on 'horse gram' or 'kolu' in tamil and they concluded that this grain helps one to lose weight. Take about 1 table spoon of this horse gram and then boil in 1 1/2 cup of water. You must drink the water and eat the horse gram on a empty stomach daily in the morning before eating breakfast. Make sure you give an interval for about 2 hours before you consume your breakfast.

Studies also shows those who consume hot beverages like tea and coffee tend to put on more weight. The better way to enjoy this beverages are by just consuming with milk and without any sugar. This is because sugar contains more fat calories that causes one to put on weight easily. You should reduce your intake of coffee or tea to 2 cups only per day. You should not consume carbonated and alcohol drinks which is also the lead factor in obesity.

Benefits of Juice-fasting

Juice-fasting is very popular among the Indians since ancient times. For the Indians, they practice fasting very frequently for spiritual purposes or to de-stress their mind and body.

On the other hand, juice fasting also helps one to detoxify and lose weight. The conservative method is to consume juices for a period of about 21 days to detoxify your body and should not eat any other food or drinks. Nonetheless now there has been lots of research conducted on juice-fasting since it has been reported that it may cure various disease if practiced strictly under the guidance of an expert in this field.

There are few effective methods that I have been practicing for along time:
On the first 3 days you should take about 250ml of juices five times at the interval of three hours. Hence the total quantity of juices to be taken on the first 3 days will be 1250ml. Then increase the amount of juices on the 4th day till 6th day gradually to 300ml of juices five times starting from 7.30 in the morning and the last should be about 7.30pm in the evening.

Once your body has adjusted to the juices, you can slowly increase the quantity everyday from the 7th day onwards. This means from the 7th day onwards you can increase the quantity of juices to 350ml and on the 8th days to 400ml and so on till 21 days. If you feel bloatedness in the stomach, it means that the quantity of juices taken is more than required. In such scenario, the amount of the juices should be slowly decreased.

It is safe to consume this juice-fasting for 21 days or till about 1 month. One word for caution, you may also experience dizziness, headache, stomach ache or body ache while practicing this juice-fasting. This is because the juices are actually detoxifying your body hence it will eliminate the toxic elements in our body.

The golden rule that must be observed by everyone during juice fasting are that one should be completely relaxed and calm to be able to get the full benefit from this programme.

The best time to observe this juice fasting is when you are away from all kinds of stressful work. One should also avoid smoking, drinking alcohol, tea or coffee during this period. You should only indulge in yoga and meditation to be able to get the full benefit from the juice-fasting.

Once you have successfully completed the 21days of juice-fasting, you must break the fast slowly by decreasing the amount of juice to three times a day and then to consume fruits like banana and papaya with a glass of milk. Then on the second day you can start eating moong dhall (green lentils) cooked with any vegetables. You must boil the moong dhall and vegetables. Please refer to my previous posting on July 13, 2009 on how to cook healthy moong dhall.

Try not to use oil in your cooking temporarily since your body needs time to digest after a long period of juice fasting. Try not to eat excessive spicy food right after you have completed your juice fasting. This is because your body may not be able to digest too much food and may cause you to have stomach disorder or vomiting symptoms. This is why you must gradually increase you food to allow your body to digest the food.

If you are doing juice-fasting to cure any particular disease then you should consult an expert practitioner.

Does exercise protect your vision?

There has been a recent study published in Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, research conducted on runners has revealed that the incidence of age-related macular degeneration (also known as “AMD”), a condition that can lead to a severely impaired vision, was lowest in runnest who ran up the most miles.

In this research, men and women who ran an average of between 1.2 a 2.5 miles per day had a 19 percent lower risk of having “AMD”. In comparison to those who ran more than 2.4 miles per day had between 40 % to 50 % lower risk.

Now you must be thinking you need to run in order to have a lower risk of AMD. You don't have to do that. It has been reported that daily moderate exercises does help to prevent vision loss. On the other hand, Indians all around the world protect their eyes by consuming joyweed soup or juice once weekly to maintain their eyesight. It has been said by a known yogi that if one is able to consume the juice of the joyweed leaves continuosly for about 48 days, they will be able to gain their loss eyesight and may not have to wear glasses anymore!

Menopausal women may be at high risk of cardiac problems

A study was conducted to more than 5,000 menopausal women found that the 50 percent who suffered from flushing and 50 percent suffered from night sweats were more likely to have high cholesterol and high blood pressure and to be overweight, which put them on a higher risk of having heart disease.

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, you should take steps to reduce your cholesterol and blood pressure and lose weight before menopause begins.

Those who have already finished menopause should have a monthly cardiac checkup and you should consult your doctor to advise you on your diet and lifestyle to keep your heart healthy.

On another study it was noted that women who go through menopause quickly may develop atherosclerosis more rapidly. It was also concluded based on a recent published study of women with no coronary artery disease before menopause found that those who have gone through menopause within two to three years have developed more plaque in their coronary arteries than those who took longer to make the transition.

These women should also be examined for other risk factors that may aggravate the coronary artery disease condition. Nonetheless one has to also bear in your mind that early menopause before the age of 50 also increases the risk of heart disease.

Traditional Indian home remedy that has been used ancient times to protect our heart includes consuming the juice from the lotus flower which is effective in healing heart related problems. You must boil the petals of the red lotus flower and drink the juice daily to strengthen your heart. The root of the petal flower are also edible. As for Asian Indians, we use the lotus flower to prepare spicy curry and we also fry the root of the lotus plant and we add into the curry or dal with vegetables. You can also stir fry the roots with celery and other vegetables.

It has been evident where parents who bring up their kids buying them chocolates, ice-creams, sweets, caramel biscuits always end up maintaining this same lifestyle as they grow up. GOODNESS OF CONSUMING LENTILS

Lentils are grains that are rich in Vitamin E which very essential for the formation of our healthy skin. Lentils have the properties to heal melamine formation and also to balance our skin tone and heals any damages skin.

There are different types of lentils. Most of the Indian households cook dhall very frequently in a week. This is one of their favourite dishes which is prepared to be consumed with rice or chapati.

The most important aspect that everyone must know is what they type of lentils that they have been eating, and you must check whether it is good for their body.
For example those who have lots of wind in their body, should avoid eating Australian Dhal. This is because there has been a lot of experiment conducted and it has been reported that those who consume this Australian Dhal tend to have knee pain and having too much of gas which caused havoc to their stomach.

Hence everyone must get the knowledge of how to overcome this problem, especially when you are consuming this meal daily in your home.

In India people are so poor that they eat only rice with dhall daily or just with raw onions and chilies.

The better lentils are Malawi Dhal, Mysore Dhal and Moong Dhall which contains lots of nutrition and has lots of goodness for those who consume them.

Are you aging?

Most elderly citizens who aren't living with a serious illness feel young at heart, on a average about 18 years younger.

In a recent survey reported on the 'Journals of Gerontology Series B:psychological Sciences and Social Sciences', that the respondents thought they look younger too by about 7 years.

The researches concluded that the main reason for this is due to a positive self-image potrayed by these respondents.

Is it true if we able to think only positive thoughts daily, we would definately chase the negative vampires away and we would life a healthy long life.

Goodness of Cumin Seeds

I am very convinced in most indian household we would store cumin seeds, which is an essential spice used in cooking.

What are ‘cumins’ or also known as ‘jeera’ in hindi or ‘shiregam’ in tamil.

There lots of benefits in consuming this cumin. It has been reported in the Journal of the American Chemical Society that the main ingredient in cumin improves one’s cells’ resistance to infection and cancer by changing the physical structure of the membrane cell itself.

It has been documented that the researchers at the University of Michigan used a technique known as solid –state NMR (“NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE’) spectroscopy to view actions of molecules in the membrane cell.

The same researches are also studying at the effects of curcumin on the formation of amyloid plaques (protein clumps) which are typically found in the brains of patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

How to have a stress free life

Everyday we are rushing to work, rushing to fetch our kids, rushing to catch the train....How may of us actually take time to breath. Below are a few breathing techniques that you should include in your daily schedules:

a)Try taking long, slow, deep breaths and inhaling as much as air as you can.One of the secret that i have learned is to breath deep from your stomach and then relax your nerves while you're breathing,

b)We must try to observe our body how it is reacting and you need to concentrate wherever you feel tightness, you must try to alleviate it .The rule is if you relax your stomach then you would have automatically relaxed your brain. This is when those pesky daily stresses start to disappear, and your perspective will naturally start to change.

c)Constantly think positively:According to studies, there are things that make people feel alive and things that make people feel dead.A form of dead example would negative emotions such nervous, anxiety, discomfort, while emotions like 'happiness and love' makes you feel alive.

If you able to master all this three steps, you would start feeling calmer.
"When you meditate, you become less anxious and you start surrendering the things that are not important".

Releasing tension or 'stressful thoughts' does wonders to tone your mind and help you stay calm. Remember stress is another word for tension.

Try to practise the above tips to lead a stress free life.

Benefits of eating Yogurt

I would like to share the goodness of eating yogurt in our daily meals.

What are yogurts?

Yogurts come from milk. Yogurt is milk that are cultured with active cultures such as Lactobacillus and H.pylori. It contains good bacteria that protects our body from harmful bacterias that causes disease. Yogurt contains probiotic which are good bacteria that balances the organism in our intestines and directly protects our digestive and immune system.

Yogurt has a high quantity of calcium and Vitamin D which is important to build strong bones. It also contains active cultures that helps with 'gastrointestinal' problems. It helps to prevent colon cancer, gastric problems and bowel disease. One can also take yogurt in other liquid forms such as Nestle Lemon Lime, Peach, Lychee and Strawberry Yogurt drink. One should look out for low fat or fat free or reduced fat or 99% fat free yogurts. One should also check the quantity of sugar as well as type of live cultures. Do not buy those with high fructose syrup or trans fat.

It also helps those who are lactose intolerant or are allergic to dairy products. Yogurt may be an alternative food for these people. Yogurt contains lactose and digestive enzymes that have been cultured to protect the digestive system.

Yogurt also helps to fight urinary tract infection(UTI. This candida or yeast infection normally causeS itchiness and if left untreated can lead to bigger problems. One of the easiest remedy is to take yogurt drinks and eat yogurts which contain active cultures. Some of the popular brands are nestle and dutch lady. A diabetic patient is prone to have frequent vaginal infections. It has been documented that diabetic patients who ate yogurts with active cultures have seen significant changes in their pH level ie their pH level has dropped from 7.0 to 4.0.

Daily consumption of yogurt also fights cholesterol in our body. In recent studies it has been documented that eating yogurt helps to lower bad cholesterol(LDL) and its raises good cholesterol (HDL).

In the book "Annals of Nutrition & Metabolism) by Fabian E, an experiment was carried our against women who consumed probiotic yogurt and pure yogurt(without being cultured). The observation was that women who consumed the probiotice yogurt had significant level of good cholesterol(HDL) being raised and the amount of bad cholesterol(LDL)being decreased successfully. Those women who consumed pure yogurt also was reported that their level of LDL cholesterol has been decreased however their HDL cholesterol did not go up.

Easy Ladna Noddle Recipe

Egg Noddles (3 Packet)
Garlic 5
Ginger 1
Red Chili' 2
Baby Kailan 100g
Squid 10g
Prawns 10g
Chicken cut into small pieces 50g
Fish cake 10g
Spring Onion 10g
Cornflour 1/2cup
Caramel sos
Coriander leaves 10g

Step 1 First blend the garlic, ginger and green chillies. Fry them using very little oil.Remove from the pan.
Step 2 Now fry chicken, squid and prawn, remove from the pan.
Step 3 Then, lightly saute baby kailan and capsicum for about 3 minutes and then remove it.

Now add more water into the pan, add thick caramel sos and then add a cup of cornflour mixture. Cook until the gravy thickens. Switch off the fire. Add ingredients in step 1, 2 and 3. Lastly garnish the noodles with coriander leaves, chillies, spring onion. Add salt and pepper.

tips: Make sure put the egg noodles in the bowl then only pour the gravy on it.Try not to add the noodles into the pan together with the gravy because it may become too soggy. It tastes better if you put the noodles on the bowl then pour the gravy over them .
You can use substitute all kinds of vegetables, sometimes if there is no kailan, I would use other green vegetables such as 'sawi'or lettuce. You can also add broccoli , carrots, capsicum and mushrooms if you want your kids to have more vegetables in their meals.

My husband and myself love this noodle.I cook this meal twice a week.

Comments are welcomed.

I have to confess I am a chocoholic.Yesterday while I was watching Astro 703, Asian Food Channel, i saw the programme on 'Chef At Home'.I learned a lot of tips from his cooking styles. He often prepares chocolate desert recipes. It is really easy.Trust me the next time look out for his programmes, he shows how to prepare simple meals which are delicious yet healthy. How many of us actually take the trouble to prepare a simple desert as shown in AFC Channels. We often resort to box of chocolates bought from our local supermarkets. It is indeed much more healthier and economical if we are able to cook our own desert. We can also save up the rest of the deserts in the fridge to fulfill our temptations!

IS FEAR CREATION OF THE MIND?

The word 'FEAR' has been dominating human mind for centuries. We are fearful of all kinds of things, some are afraid of height, water, darkness, spirit, death and others. How does one should face their fear?

When i was young, i remember my parents would say don't go there, the ghost will haunt you, or don't do that god will punish you. It seems strange this little words that our parents have been telling us has created a bigger fear rooted deep in our mind.

As the law of free will, one is allowed to create anything the mind can perceive as true and the mind will accept it even if in reality it is not true! All our negative thoughts and experiences creates our root fear. The mind is a very powerful element. We must be careful on what we are thinking. If we choose negative thoughts, it starts creating fear and then it leads to creation of disease. It takes alot of effort and will power for one to overcome their fear.

One way is to take the challenge to face the fear. For example if you are afraid of water, you should take the boat ride and tell your mind all is fine and that you will return safely to the shore.Another example would be if your are fear of failing the exam. If you are having a fear of failing, guess what you will fail! It has been proven scientifically that those who boldly face the fears and then realise it is only a wrongful creation of the mind, and then surrender that fear, he has succesfully removed that fear!

I have been blessed with good friends and angels who surround me all the times. One of my friends, introduced me to a healer who is able to remove your fear. I was amazed when i heard of the existence of such person. I immediately made an appointment to see him. I had mix feelings to see this person. I met the healer, his name is Hari and i was so touched with his unconditional love to human. He kept telling me becareful of what you are thinking, because that is what you are going to get. He even told me that our human mind is like a 'monkey mind', we are always full of unnecessary negative thoughts. He told me that every thought created new thought and as a result it would create the desired illness.

After the session with Hari, i went back home pondering about what Hari has told me.I kept playing back in mind what he was saying and then i decided to put my mind to test. So i told myself that my husband will call me within 20 minutes and so i kept thinking about it. And he did call me.Wow i thought to myself that was fast. And then i tried thinking of something good, i was thinking about my close friend who was at that time residing in overseas. I was thinking maybe she would send me a message on the phone and miraculously she did. My faith grew stronger day be day as I started thinking of bigger things in my life. I realise we are what we think!

I am so happy and blessed to have known how to conquer my fear. I am very grateful to have met Hari who has explained to me about Fear. Those who want to meet this miracle healer, you can visit his website at www.irah-healing.com.You can also purchase his book on IRAH'S Book Of Healing on how to remove your fear. The book prescribes how one can remove any illness by removing your fears. I have been practising his fear removal methodology for a long time and i have always succeeded in removing my fears! It is such a miracle book.Everyone must own this powerful healing book! You can used it at anytime, anywhere at any place. Its true!I am speaking based on my personal experiences!

How to protect our immune system?

I would like to share my knowledge on how to protect our immune system. One of the ways is of course exercising, eating healthy balanced meals, drinking 8 glasses of water. Now that it something you may hear from every day.But how many of us have thought about other beneficial things which is around us.

Holy basil also known as 'Tulasi in tamil', or 'Selasih in Malay' is healing plant. It is held in very high esteem in Ayurveda, the Indian Science of traditional healing. In actual fact, next to the lotus plant, this is the second most sacred herb of the Vedas(the ancient holy books) . It is often known as the herbs with many cures.

It is a very auspicious plant for indians. You can find this plant is planted in every traditional indian house. This herb has been researched and its benefits have been documented. Som of its benefits are that its efficacy as an immuno-stimulant, expectorant, anti-emetic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, stress adaptogen and mild blood purifier.

This 'tulasi' herb enhances the body's resistence to infections, reduces fevers and works as preventative measure during times of stress and convalescence.
The herb is believed to have the power to strengthen the immune system by stimulating white blood cells which will then fight agents of disease. Tulasi can help the body fight off the effects of viral, bacteria, algae and fungal infections.

It has been proven that this herb has been tested on mice and rats and the results was that it protects against stress-induced ulcers.

In specific dose, tulasi can reduce fevers and inflammation. We can also find tulasi oil sold at the pharmacy which helps to cure bacterial and fungal infections.

The tulasi leaf is edible and can be eaten raw.The traditional indians practise the habit of consuming this tulasi daily to protect their immune system. One can also make juice from the herb. The tulasi juice is very helpful for those having cough and sore throats. The juice can also be externally applied on wounds.

Can we cure an incurable disease/condition?

My answer is yes. We can heal through our mind, though perfection of thoughts.
If a patient can think thoughts of perfect 'health' the disease will vanish!
Do you agree with me? I have seen many miracles in my life, when one focuses on good health, good thoughts, that energy creates a healing to that person.
If a person is suffering from mouth ulser but if continue to think it is painful and you talk about it to your wife and kids and friend, guess what you are actually inviting more unbearable ulsers. If you remember my earlier post i mentioned what we think most of the time that would be manifested!

In fact do u know why do we go through stress or worry because of that one NEGATIVE thought. When you keep adding salt and pepper to that one thought and then more thought comes untill a disease is manifested! We can change that negative thought with constant positive thoughts. Positive thoughts has the power to dissolve any negative thought no matter how small or big it is.

We have often hear about true stories on how someone survived a terribe tragedy? Have you pondered how ? It is a miracle but the more crucial answer is because of the
change of pattern in thinking. When there is a prolong thought of positive words, you can heal any disease.

I am sure every one of us have heard of the true story of the MIRACLE MEN which was featured in the DISCOVERY CHANNEL and OPRAH WINFREY SHOW that has been reported in history of the world.

This is the story about MORRIS GOODMAN. He crashed an airplane and ended up in the hospital completely paralysed. His spinal cord was crushed, and both first and second cervical vertebrae was broken. He could not eat or drink becaucse his diaphragm was destroyed, he couldn’t even breathe. All he could do was to blink his eyes. The doctors confirmed that he will be vegetable rest of his life. He did not listen to the doctors, he started thinking and visualizing he was a normal person again walking out of that hospital. He kept working wth his mind and thinking positive things that he is all well. He was hooked to a respirator and doctors said he will never ever breathe on his own. But he kept believing himself that he can breath on his own, he is all well. Finally he came out of it. The doctors were loss of words! He set his goal to walk out of the hospital on Christmas day and HE did! He walked out of the hospital on his own 2 feet on christmas day. As you read this story i am sure you could feel all your hairs standing up.It is indeed a TRUE STORY.There are many true stories of people who have cured incurable condition.

Remember “U are what u think about all the time”. Morris was know as ‘THE MIRACLE MAN” .He demonstrated the unfathomable power and unlimited potential of human mind!Evryting is possible! MORRIS’ story has inspired thousand of people to think, imagine and feel their way back to health. He turned the greatest challenge of his life into the greatest gift !All things are possible when u believe u can cure yourself!

Another true story, Norman Cousins has been diagnosed wth an incurable disease. The doctors told him that he had few months to live.Norman decided to heal himself. For 3 months all he did was watch funny movies and laugh, laugh, laugh. The disease left his body within three months and doctors were shocked and proclaimed his recovery a MIRACLE!

As he laughed Norman released all negativity and he released the disease. Yes 'Laughter really is the best medicine to heal our state of mind!'

Dr.Ben Johnson said in 'THE SECRET' book “We all come with a built in basic program .It is called “self –healing ”YOU get a wound, it grows back together.YOU get a bacterial infection, THE immune system comes and takes care of those bacteria and heals it up.The immune system is made to heal itself.”

The famous Bob Proctor says “Disease cannot live in a healthy emotional state.Your body is casting off millions of cells every second and it is also creating millions of new cells at d same time"

If our entire bodies are replaced within few years as science as proven, the how can it be that degeneration or illness remains in our bodies for years? An illness can only be held there by thought, by observation of the illness and by d attention given to the illness.

If every one of us can think thought of perfection, disease cannot sustain in our body. Illness cannot exist in a body that has harmonious thoughts. Imperfect thoughts are the cause of all humanity’s ills, including disease, poverty and unhappiness. When we think negative thoughts we are cutting ourselves off from our rightful heritage.

Let us all take charge of our body. We can cure any disease if we keep focusing on thoughts of perfect health!Let us heal within us and also everyone of us must heal the world!

What is our birthright?

Does anyone know what are their birth rights?

I believe that god wants each of one of us to be happy. He wants all of us to have power, prosperity, joy and happiness? But who makes the ultimate choice?
Its YOU and ME. We choose to be happy or sad despite the current situation we are in.It is our birthright to ask god what we want and we accept when we get it.The problem is most of us don't know what we want in life.

We need to analyse ourselves. Do you want to live in poverty? Do you want to be sad.You need to make a decision. No matter how bad it seem, every situation will change, as the famous quote says 'TIME HEALS EVERYTHING'

Let say we want to be successful? What do you do? We need to mould ourselves daily and say what must i do to be successful? What ever idea that you receive, analyse , trust and act upon it. Prosperity is our birthright? God never intended his devotee to be poor or sad. We need to ask what we want, it is our birthright to be happy and successful instead of thinking about failure all the time. if you think about failure again and again guess what you will get what you think.

We need to be focus on what we want. We have start a journal, write exactly what do want in this life, Do u want to be a successful doctor? a brilliant student? As u think about what you want, you will realize that the universe will give you incidents to support your thinking. Now the ball is in your court, it is whether you choose to act on it or disregard it ,,its all your choice? I am not saying if for example you are thinking of becoming the boss of the company and if you are currently just the officer, you should not bluntly leave your job and start up a new company. You need to plan step be step what actions must you take to reach your goal. As you write you will notice you will get pool full of ideas. But the ultimate rule is you need to keep thinking and visualising your goal as is it has happen. You need to play this in your mind frequently to attract the situation to be manifested in your life.

HEALTHY FOOD FOR HEALTHY MIND AND BODY!

I love food.Who does not? But more imporantly i am very picky about what i eat. I am very cautious about the chemicals that we consume daily in our food?Solution, i try to cook as healthy as i can. I avoid can or processed food. I try to add in herbs and spices in my daily cooking.

I would like to share simple tips that i do when I prepare my family's meal.Every morning my husband and i would drink fruit juice to remove toxic and excess elements from our body. The combination of fruits that I blend are green apple, celery, orange, beetroot, capsicum and cucumber. Alternative days i also drink black grapes juices as well as bittergourd which is good to remove excess sugar in our blood.

I also cook healthy food for my baby. My baby is 1 1/2 years old. Everyday when i prepare her porridge, i try to add some herbs in her meal. My mom told me that we should try to add spices and herbs so that the baby's body gets adjusted to different kind of foods. Everdyday i would add herbs like pennywort leaves also known as 'valarai' in tamil, joyweed leaves or 'ponangani' in tamil and holy basil 'tulasi' in my baby's porridge. I notice that my baby is very alert and her memory power is excellent.

I come from a conservative ceylonese background. Since when i was a toodler, good eating habits has been taught to me and my siblings. My late grandma was an avid reader on herbs and plants. She used to explain to us the importance of cooking different kind of vegetables as well benefits of spices and herbs. I have been also studying and experiencing the benefits of these herbs. This herbs has also numerous healing abilities and has the power to cure various disease. A lot of experiment is still being conducted on herbs and spices to cure incurable disease. One can also achieve to have a healthy mind free from worries and stress-free life when you consume these herbs and plants. How? These herbs have powerful elements that combines with the elements in our body and thus the chemical reaction heals the particular disease.

My siblings and i use to eat all these spices, vegetables and herbs when we were young and we now continue to introduce them to our children. We too enjoy eating these herbs. It is important for us to eat fresh healthy herbs, spices and vegetales to have a healthy mind. When i was doing my final professional degree, i used to consume lots of pennywort leaves which is also sold in the form of juices at our local indian grocery shops. I just hope everyone will also gain plenty of benefits from consuming these herbs.

My life experiences with my newborn baby..

I am proud mother of a one year old baby. I would like to share my experience as a new mother in this world.I work full time so i sent my baby to my parents house and normally fetch her in the evenings. I have this guilt haunting me all the time that i am not spending quality time with my baby? You may ask why the guilt? It is a norm for many working mothers who rush home to see their baby! But the real question is do we actually spend that time with our child. What i mean is many of us choose to sit in front of the tv while holding our child. I need to confess, yes I do this sometimes. But i always discipline myself, i only watch one movie with my baby and then i will spend time reading nursery books, picture books and animal kingdom.I have introduced book to my child since she was 6 months old baby. She loves reading. At times when i am watching my favourite movie, i would just put her near me and I would surround her with her baby books and she would open the book touching with her little cute fingers, feeling the texture of the page and she will try to run through the pages looking at the pictures. Its really cute watching them......

I also take her for a walk near the poolside as well as the playground.I could feel the happiness in her face when she looks at other children. Its really amazing. Children just love socialising! She loves water.she tries to pull me towards the pool and there she goes splashing and playing with the pool water.

I have also taught her many gestures and hand movements. She was very quick learner. She is able to learn and respond to you within a day..It is so much of joy to see your baby playing, laughing.................motherhood is god's greatest gift to me.Thank you god!

How to have more money?

Many of us suffer from financial problem whether it is recession or not MONEY is always thought as a problem. It's not bad or good. It just does its purpose. The main core problem is people perceive money as an evil.

All of us often see money as evil, no good but we still need it. We give so much negative energy to money, therefore it appears in our life as we see it, limited and scare. As the law says what your mind perceive is what you get.

Remove your fears about money and you'll see how money will come to you.

If you keep hating it, it will be very difficult to come. Remember if you keep thinking of a debt ,,you will attract more of the same issues. The best is have a open mind, always visualise you have abundance of money (even if you don't have) and just keep doing, guess what more money will pour into your life !Money would start working for you,you would be getting paid, you may suddenly get a part time job and etc.Remember the law of attraction says what you think of most of the time, you will manifest that.SO if you keep thinking that you have abundance, you will instantly attract more abundance. This is so true!I have personally experience drastic changes in my life when I start appreciating money and keep the positive thoughts of abundance in my mind!

Keep expressing gratitude for all the things that you have and are going to achieve.By doing this you are sending a powerful signal to the universe to give you more! You can also keep focusing that you are constantly receiving plenty of cash and cheques every week. Please don't worry about how you going to get this. The universe will go this for you, your job is to manifest and when you get right opportunity , you need to take actions.A simple illustration would be , if you keep thinking that you want abundance and within 3 weeks you get a call to do an assignment which will pay you about 300 dollars!Grab the opportunity and say thank you to God/Universe and you will be given more of such some situations!

Example: Keep saying Thank you GOD for settling all the bills;
Thank you GOD for this passion-filled job;
Thank you lord for the car;
Thank you god for giving me the money for my son’s education.

If a shirt costs RM1000, look at the shirt not the money. Thank the person who bought you and keep expressing gratitude, the universe will give you more.

Don't worry about how the money comes! By doing so, you putting a block. So have faith and practice the above. All you need to do is manifest your desire to have abundance and change your thought patterns that you are receiving unlimited amount of money....and your life will change immediately!

Mind

Mind

You become what you think about most of the time. And the most
important part of each day is what you think about at the beginning of
that day.

Start Your Day Right
Take 30 minutes each morning to sit quietly and to reflect on your
goals. You'll find when you read the biographies and autobiographies
of successful men and women that almost everyone of them began their
upward trajectory to success when they begin getting up early in the
morning and spending time with themselves.

Feed Your Mind With Positive Ideas
This is called the Golden Hour. The first hour sets the tone for the
day. The things that you do in the first hour prepare your mind and
set you up for the entire day. During the first thirty to sixty
minutes, take time to think and review your plans for the future.

Use Your Quiet Time Effectively
Here are four things that you can do during that quiet time in the
morning. Number one is to review your plans for accomplishing your
goals and change your plans if necessary.

Number two is think of better ways to accomplish your goals. As an
exercise, assume that the way you're going about it is totally wrong
and imagine going about it totally differently. What would you do
different from what you're doing right now?

Number three, reflect on the valuable lessons that you have learned
and are learning as you move toward your goals.
Practice Daily Visualization
Number four, calmly visualize your goal as a reality. Close your eyes,
relax, smile, and see your goal as though it were already a reality.
Rewrite your major goals everyday in the present tense. Rewrite them
as though they already existed. Write "I earn X dollars." "I have a
net worth of X." "I weigh a certain number of pounds." This exercise
of writing and rewriting your goals everyday is one of the most
powerful you will ever learn.

Fasten Your Seatbelt
Your life will start to take off at such a speed that you'll have to
put on your seatbelt. Remember, the starting point for achieving
financial success is the development of an attitude of unshakable
confidence in yourself and in your ability to reach your goals.
Everything we've talked about is a way of building up and developing
your belief system until you finally reach the point where you are
absolutely convinced that nothing can stop you from achieving what you
set out to achieve.

Everything Counts
No one starts out with this kind of an attitude, but you can develop
it using the law of accumulation. Everything counts. No efforts are
ever lost. Every extraordinary accomplishment in the result of
thousands of ordinary accomplishments that no one recognizes or
appreciates. The greatest challenge of all is for you to concentrate
your thinking single-mindedly on your goal and by the law of
attraction, you will, you must inevitably draw into your life the
people, circumstances and opportunities you need to achieve your
goals.

Become A Living Magnet
Once you've mastered yourself and your thinking, you will become
a living magnet for ideas and opportunities to become wealthy. It's
worked for me and for every successful person I know. It will work
for you if you'll begin today, now, this very minute, to think and talk
about your dreams and goals as though they were already a reality.
When you change your thinking, you will change your life. You will
put yourself firmly on the road to financial independence.

Action Exercises
Now, here are two things you can do every single day to keep your
mind focused on your financial goals:

First, get up every morning a little bit earlier and plan your day
in advance. Take some time to think about your goals and how
you can best achieve them. This sets the tone for the whole day.

Second, reflect on the valuable lessons you are learning each day as
you work toward your goals. Be prepared to correct your course and
adjust your actions. Be absolutely convinced that you are moving
rapidly toward your goals, no matter what happens temporarily on
the outside. Just hang in there!

DOES GOD PUNISH GOOD PEOPLE?

DOES GOOD PUNISH GOOD PEOPLE?

All of us have always heard of this word "Does god punish good people"
Why is that good people suffer?

All religion teaches us to be truthful, as the famous saying goes 'what you sow, is what you reap' All of us must bear the consequences of our own act.

Often we hear people say that we have not hurt or exploited anyone, we have only done good and yet we have had to suffer.Does god really punish good people?

I recall of a story which i read many years ago. A bacheloer was very successful in building is business in Canada. Later, he turned his attention to spiritual things. He elected his trustworthy assistant as the new director of the company.Unfortunately his partner played him out and this bachelor was almost declared a bankrupt. His company was wound up and he migrated to London and he decided to start a new business. His badluck, his shop was robbed within a week!

This bachelor keep asking god why do punish me: "Why did this
happen to me? I pray many times everyday. I seek God's help and
protection. Every morning, as I get up, I offer a prayer: I spend
some time in quiet meditation.

Throughout the day I keep thinking of God and offer small prayers to
Him. I pray again in night, before I go to sleep. I have hurt no one.
I have cheated no one. I have never been dishonest. Why, of all
people, did this happen to me?"

I think of a young woman. She stays in Singapore. She is God fearing.
She is an active member of a Yoga Society. Some months ago, she came
to India, along with her family members. They visited a number of
sacred shrines. They met holy men and sought their blessings. Then
they returned to Singapore. A few days thereafter, their office
premises were gutted by fire, and precious documents were destroyed.
The girl, with tear filled eyes exclaimed: "Why is it that this
happened to us? We visited India in a spirit of reverence, sought the
blessings of a number of holy men and women. Why did this happen to
us!"

I read concerning a woman. She went round the world collecting rare
and precious antiques. After six laborious years, she returned to her
country where she planned to start business in antiques. A week
before the inaugural function, a fire broke out, and a number of
shops including her own were destroyed. Her hard work of six long
years proved futile. Her priceless collections, her irreplaceable
curios, were reduced to ashes! No insurance claim could compensate
her adequately. She put the same question: "Why did the All-Merciful
God permit this to happen to me?"

Another story is about women who devoted the best part of her
life to social service. She was by nature affable, amiable,
energetic, and vivacious. She went out of her way to bring joy and
comfort into the lives of many. Suddenly, one day, she found herself
losing balance as she walked. A few days later, as she returned home,
one night, she stumbled and fell across the threshold of her house.
The next day she was examined by a doctor, who, after a thorough
check up, diagnosed the disease as multiple sclerosis. She was told
that it was a degenerative nerve-disease which, with passage of time,
would gather momentum and restrict her mobility. Ultimately, she
would not be able to walk without support and she would be confined
to a wheel-chair. She might even lose bowel and bladder control and
be dependent on others for her routine chores. This lady too, could
not understand why this had happened to her, when many of her friends
lived normal, healthy lives. "Why did God permit this to happen to
me?" she asked.

Some people believe that there are certain obligations they owe to
God, and if they fail to fulfill them, they or their dear ones are
punished. One such woman met me when I visited Ottawa, Canada. She
told me that she recited the second, twelfth and eighteenth chapters
of the Bhagavad Gita every day, before taking her lunch. She
observed, also, the Satyanarayan fast, every month. But during a
whole month, she missed out on the recitation and the fast. The day
after Satyanarayan her husband, who was perfectly healthy and normal,
suffered a stroke, and has remained paralysed since then. The woman
put me the question that was uppermost in her mind: "Has this
anything to do with my failure to read from the scriptures and
observe the fast? Is there any cause and effect relationship between
the two?"

I think of a young man. He was the only son of his parents, who are
good and kind, and obliging by nature. With his pleasant manners, the
young man easily won over the hearts of many who knew him. One night,
the car in which he was returning home, collided against a truck,
killing him and three of his other friends. When the news was
conveyed to his parents, they cried: "Why did the Merciful Lord allow
this happen to us? Why was our only son snatched away from us?"

A learned Rabbi has written a book titled, When Bad Things Happen to
Good People. In this book the Rabbi narrates how his three year old
son was afflicted with an incurable disease called Progeria. The
effect of this disease, he was told, would be that the boy would not
grow taller than three feet, would remain bald, and would age
rapidly. Even as a child, he would have the appearance of an old man!
Naturally, the father was grief-stricken. "Why has God permitted an
innocent child to become the victim of such a disease? He asked. "He
has hurt or harmed no one. Why has he been exposed to physical and
psychological torture?" The author considers several similar cases
and concludes that God is not omnipotent, as we believe Him to be.
God has limited power. Within those limitations God can exercise His
discretion. But there are forces over which He has no control. If
those forces operate, God has no way of helping you out.

Dr. Anne Besant, the founder of the Theosophical Society gave birth
to a child who, during his infancy, suffered from convulsions.
Suddenly, the fever would shoot up and the infant would have a series
of fits. The suffering of the infant was more than the mother could
bear. She was at a total loss to understand how the All-Loving, All-
Merciful, All-Compassionate God had inflicted so much suffering on a
harmless, guileless and perfectly innocent baby. She turned an
agnostic and said that she was not sure if there was a God.

One day, she was asked to review `The Secret Doctrine' by Madame H.B. Blavatsky. As she went through this book, she came upon a chapter on Karma and
Reincarnation. She read line after line of this chapter with
deepening interest and a new awakening dawned on her. She began to
understand that the present was not the only life that she or her
child had lived; it was but one of the innumerable lives they had
lived so far. The present life was but a fragment in the continuity
of existence and, therefore what an individual suffered today could
be the product of what he (or she) had done in an earlier
incarnation. The mystery was unravelled. Her entire attitude towards
life changed.

The answer to the opt-repeated question, "Does god punish good people?"
becomes clear when we understand the operation of the law of karma
and re-incarnation. The law of karma is the law of cause and effect.
Every effect must have a cause. The effect we see now must have a
cause, recent or remote. Whatever happens to me today has a cause
behind it.

Question: What is the concrete proof for this?

Answer: You will get concrete proof when you practice silence and
enter the depths within you. The meaning of the mystery of the
endless adventure of existence is there within you. As you enter into
the depths within, the mystery is unravelled.

Question: Can you give us some concrete example?

Answer: An example has been given in the Mahabharata. It concerns the
blind King Dhritarashtra. After the Mahabharata war was over, Sri
Krishna said to Pandavas and Kauravas and all others: "It is time for
me to return to Dwaraka. But before I leave, tell me if there is
anything I can do for you?" The blind King Dhritarashtra said to
him: "I have beeNgood to everyone: I have not been cruel or unjust to
anyone. Why is it that I am blind and have lost all my hundred
children?" And Sri Krishna said to him: "I would wish you to get the
answer for yourself. Meditate, go deep within yourself until you
touch the astral self, and you will know!"

Dhritarashtra entered into deep meditation and contacted his astral
self. The astral self keeps a record of our earlier incarnations.
Dhritarashtra discovered that in an earlier incarnation, he had been
a tyrant king. One day as he walked by a lake side, he saw a swan-
bird surrounded by a hundred signets. He asked his people to remove
the eyes of the swan-bird and kill all the hundred signets just to
please his passing fancy! He then understood why he was blind and had
to suffer the loss of his hundred sons.

Question: But isn't that a very lengthy process of getting to know?

Answer: It is well worth it. You do not acquire a post graduate
degree overnight. You have to put in years of study. Just as there is
the science of nature, so also there is the science of the spirit.

The rishis of ancient India called it Atmavidya. Vidya means science.
As natural sciences have their laws, so does Atmavidya, - the science
of the spirit, - have its laws. One of those laws is the law of
karma; another is the law of re-incarnation.

Question: Could you explain this law of karma?

Answer: The law of karma, simply stated, is the law of cause and
effect. My Beloved Master referred to the law of karma as the law of
the seed. As you sow, so shall you reap. You cannot sow thrones and
reap apples. The law of karma is universal in its application: it
applies equally to all. We are sowing seeds everyday in the field of
life. Every thought that I think, every word that I utter, every deed
I perform, every emotion I arouse within me, every feeling, fancy,
wish that awakens within me, are seeds I am sowing in the field of
life. In due course, the seeds will germinate and grow into trees,
and yield fruit, - bitter or sweet, - which I shall have to eat. No
one else can do that for me. There are causes that produce their
effect immediately. There are other causes that produce their effect
after a long time. As an example, if you go to a party and overeat,
it is a cause you have created. This cause produces an immediate
effect, - acute indigestion. There are other causes which take very
long to produce their effect. But every cause must produce its
effect; every seed must yield its fruit. This in simple words is the
law of karma.

We are told, all men are created equal. No one can be so blind or
foolish as to imagine that there is actual equality of ability or
environment or conditions of birth for all. Why, in the same family,
all children do not have equality of ability or intelligence. There
is a family of which the eldest son is an IAS officer and the younger
is unable to pass the SSC examination. We have a proverb in Sindhi
which says: "The mother gives birth to children, each brings with
himself his destiny." In other words, each one brings his karma with
himself. There is a family of which youngest son is a multi
millionaire, while the eldest is so poor that he and his children are
virtually starving, literally begging for food.

Two questions arise:
1. Is this inequality the result of karma?
2. And if so, is it fair?

The answer to both, - as the great teachers of India have taught us, -
is in the affirmative. You are the architect of your own destiny.
You are the builder of your own life. Every thought, emotion, wish,
action creates karma: and we have been creating karma for thousands,
perhaps millions of years. If our thoughts, emotions and actions are
benevolent, so called good karma results. If they are malevolent,
evil or difficult karma is created. The good or evil we generate
attaches its effect to us and remains in our life current until we
have satisfied it by balancing it out.

Question: Why is our past karma kept a secret from us?

Answer: Don't you think it is a great mercy of God that our karmic
links are not known t o us> Else, it may be difficult for us to live
in the world. Thus, for instance, there may be a man whose wife, in
the present incarnation, was his bitter enemy in an earlier
incarnation and had now become his wife only to settle previous
accounts. If all this were revealed to us, what would be our
condition?

Question: How did bad karma originate?

Answer: Man was given free will; he was given the right of choice. He
can choose between what the Upanishads call preya and shreya. Preya
is the pleasant: the path of preya is the path of pleasure that lures
us but leads to our degradation. As a Danish proverb has it: "After
pleasant scratching comes unpleasant smarting." Shreya is the good:
the path of shreya may, at first, be difficult to tread but
ultimately leads to our betterment and well-being and spiritual
unfoldment. At every step man is given this choice. Many of us, alas,
choose the easy path, -the path of pleasure, - and so keep on
multiplying undesirable karma.

Question: If all that happens today is the result of our past karmas,
does it mean that everything is pre-destined?

Answer: No, certainly not! We are the architects of our own destiny.
We are the builders of our future. Many of us blame fate, kismet for
our misfortune. But let me tell you, dear friends, that you are the
builders of your own fate. Therefore, be careful especially of your
thoughts. We pay scant attention to our thoughts, believing that they
are of no consequence. We say, after all, it was only a thought, what
does it matter? Every thought is a seed you are sowing in the field
of life, and what you sow today, you will have to reap tomorrow.

God has created a universe of beauty, fullness, happiness and
harmony. Each one of us is a child of God. God wishes each one of us
to be happy, healthy, prosperous, successful and to enjoy all the
good things He has created. We keep ourselves away from all those
bounties because of our karma. Change your karma and you will change
the conditions in which you live. And you can change your karma by
adopting a new pattern of thinking.

Question: Can karmas be wiped off by Prayers

Answer: It is believed that the effects of karma can be mitigated
through prayers. In any case, the suffering can be reduced, because
prayers acts as a sort of chloroform. It is like going through an
operation. The surgeon puts you under anesthesia and you come out of
the operation without feeling the acute pain. Else the pain is so
excruciating, that a person could die of it. This is what prayers
does to you.

Question: Can saints take over the karma of their disciples?

Answer: They can. However, normally, they do not wish to interfere
with the law of karma. For they know that the law of karma is not
punitive but reformative. The law of karma does not wish to punish us
for what we may have done in the past. The law of karma wishes to
reform us and so sends us experiences which may help on our spiritual
advancement. It is true there have been cases when men of God have
taken the karmas of their devotees upon themselves. It is like having
birds released from their cages. A man may purchase the birds and set
them free. Likewise, a man who is rich in the wealth of the Spirit
may, if he so desires, pay for our karma and released us from the
cage of maya.

Question: Tell us how to face suffering?

Answer: If our attention is on suffering they get magnified beyond
all proportions. In the midst of suffering let us count our
blessings. Usually, we suffer only in one area of our life. There are
so many other things for which we should be grateful. Take a piece of
paper and make a list of all the blessings you still have. There was
a man who started from scratch and build up a flourishing business
and one day become bankrupt. The first thing he did was to take up a
piece of paper and write down all the things he still possessed. He
found, he still had a great deal to be thankful for. With gratitude
in his heart, he started anew and built up a still larger business.
If we count on our blessings, our suffering recedes in the background.

In all conditions of life, let us thank the Lord. Let us make it a
habit, - to praise the Lord at every step, in every round of life.
Even in the midst of fear and frustration, worry and anxiety,
depression and disappointment, let these words come out of the very
depths of our hearts: "Thank you, God! Thank you, God!" and we will
be filled with a peace that will amaze us. When we thank the Lord all
the time, we build for ourselves a ladder of consciousness on which
we can climb and touch the very pinnacle of peace.

Let me tell you the story of a woman. Her husband fell seriously ill.
The doctors dispaired of his condition and said he would not be able
to last longer than six months. The woman had deep faith in God and
started thanking the Lord a thousand times everyday. "Thank you, God!
Thank you, God!" she prayed again and again. "Thank you, God, for
having healed my husband and made him whole." She continued to offer
his prayer even though there was no sign of healing in sight. Strange
enough, a few months later, when the husband went for a check up, the
doctors were amazed at his miraculous recovery. "A power above and
beyond ours has been at work!" they exclaimed.

Whatever be the condition in which you find yourself, whatever be the
suffering through which you pass, keep on thinking the Lord all the
time. When you do so, your heart expands and you become receptive to
the helpful and healing forces of God.

In every situation, do the very best you can and leave the result to
the Lord. When Henry Ford was seventy-five years old, he was asked
the secret of his success. He answered: "My life is built in these
three rules. I do not eat too much, I do not worry too much and, if I
do my best, I believe that what happens happens for the best."

Express gratitude.........

Many of us have been taught by our parents that we must thank others for their help or if they give us a gift. How many of us continue to practice what we have been taught since we were a child.Do we express gratitude to all that we have and to all that things that we are going to have?

It is a very a basic teaching that all of us know in our fingertips but we fail to put it to practise.

What is the definition of Gratitude? It means being thankful. If
gratitude is followed at every step of life it will have many benefits, such as

1) It will uplift your mind and way of thinking which is the biggest
benefit

2) If u practise living in a state of gratitude all the time, the positive vibrations of gratitude will go out into the universe and will attract even more positive people and events in your life

And remember it is not important what you do. It is important what you are. Being is more important than doing. Does it make any sense?

Remember the focus is more on being rather than doing. If you speak and behave in a particular way but your inner being does not match with it then it will never work.
We must be thankful for every breath that we are taking....For everything good in our life. we must be thankful for the car that we own, the job that we have, the loving husband that we have, thankful to god for our precious baby ........

Even if you dont like a person or you dont like your work........ ...
feel thankful for it because God has given you that situation for a particular
reason.You will find out soon!

Feel thankful for every good and bad thing in your life. In the
beginning it may be some what difficult but with practise you can
feel more and more thankful throughout the day. Do it after waking
up and before going to sleep and do it as many times as you can
throughout the day.

I guarantee you that if u follow it sincerely, you will feel
so good and your life will start changing. My life has changed drastically from the time i have practised the gratitude manthra!

If we complain or beg......... .. it sends negative energy of lack
and restlessness into the universe which attracts even more lack,
struggle and disharmony in our lives. So stop complaining and start
thanking that is what jesus means when he says, "Those who have will
be given more."

It simply means if you have gratitude then you will attract abundance and joy. If you have nothing but complains you will attract more complains and negativity.
Let us express thank you everyday for every single thing that we have, we are going to receive and be thankful for the life, universe, sun, moon, food and all the miracles that we are going to receive.
